Must-Have Features in Every Luxury Kitchen

The kitchen is the heart of the home, and with the holiday season quickly creeping up on us, it’s the room in your house that you can guarantee will be packed full with close friends and family. Whether you’re someone that is accustomed to hosting large groups of people or you are someone that loves to cook, a luxury kitchen is something that you’ve probably dreamed about for years, but were you aware of all the gadgets, features, and appliances that can now be incorporated into a custom kitchen?

The team at Carr Homes has been fortunate enough to help various individuals build the designer home of their dreams right here in Hamilton. In that time, we’ve seen some of the most incredible and gorgeous kitchens come to life. Whether you’re thinking about building a designer home in the near future or you’re in the process of creating the layout for your dream kitchen, the team at Carr Homes hopes that today’s blog will provide you with some fun ideas as to what you could incorporate into your kitchen.

Double Ovens

Something that we’ve seen for a while that is being incorporated into more and more homes is the double oven. There are so many different reasons that a double oven is a beneficial feature to add to your kitchen, but one of the primary ones are the events where you’re cooking for large groups of people. Thanksgiving, for example, will be all the easier when you have one oven that is solely dedicated to the turkey and another that has your green bean casserole and rolls going. You will be extremely thankful that you factored double ovens into the design when all of your big dinners go without a hitch!

Pot Filler

Another luxury feature that so many are raving about is the pot filler. Have you ever had to fill a large pot to get your spaghetti cooking and found yourself struggling to fill it under the sink head or spilling to get it out of the sink? If so, a pot filler is a feature you’re definitely going to want to look into. These handy faucets have a swing-out feature so that you can swing them out over your pot on the stove and fill right then and there. Aside from that, pot fillers are a great hot-water source when preparing a cup of tea or instant coffee. Whatever you choose to use it for, this is a feature that we absolutely love.

Appliance Garage

Does this sound like something that you need, even though you’re not entirely sure what it is? That’s exactly how we felt when we learned what an appliance garage was! Truth be told, it’s pretty much exactly what it sounds like. If you have a bunch of appliances sitting out on your counter and you either 1) don’t like the look of them or 2) are wanting more counter space, an appliance garage is exactly what you need.

This feature is an on-counter storage option that has a roll up door to hide any of the appliances that you’re not using. By having a large enough space to store these items, you don’t have to worry about looking at the loose cords or bulky appliances when you’re not using them. On top of that, you have the opportunity to use the counter space in front of the appliance garage. That’s what we call a win-win!

Enclosed Trash and Recycling Bins

While we’re on the topic of kitchen items that take away from the overall aesthetic of the room, let’s touch on trash cans and recycling bins. These two things are necessary when talking about a space where you’re going to be cooking regularly and will surely have items to dispose of. Even though that may be the case, it’s important to note that these two things do not have to be front and center when your company comes to visit.

This is yet another feature that we love seeing in kitchens: enclosed trash and recycling bins! While they still have the same purpose, the design has given them quite the facelift! Now, you can choose to have enclosed bins that look like a set of drawers on the outside, while still being the trash can and recycling bin that you need when you pull them out.
